10 Things You May Not Have Known About The Kansas City Royals

8. There Is A Makeshift Barbershop Within Kauffman Stadium

When you are playing as part of a 162-game season - beyond spring training, media and public appearances, and applicable playoff and All-Star Game-related work - there is surely a lot less free time for you than fans may realize. On top of that, as a public figure, it may not be easy to just go to a local barbershop in your hometown.

Finding a solution to that problem, a few of the Royals players set up a makeshift barbershop within a private area near the team clubhouse. Haircuts within are done by famed local barber DeJuan Bonds, and the room even has a traditional striped barber-pole.

Bonds earned a lot of notoriety a few years back for helming Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer's distinct haircut. But interestingly, players from the visiting team have also been known to utilize the services of Bonds; I cannot confirm nor deny whether I saw the New York Mets' Todd Frazier getting a haircut behind-the-scenes at Kauffman Stadium.
