10 Things You May Not Have Known About The Kansas City Royals

7. The Team's Most Popular Promotional Giveaway Is A Women's Clothing Item

As a fan-friendly baseball team, the Kansas City Royals seem to host more games with themes and promotional giveaways than not. Many of these promotional items - given away to at least 10,000 in Kauffman Stadium - are standard fare among Major League Baseball teams, like bobbleheads, t-shirts and hats. The specific promotion at the 17 August 2019 game I attended was a post-game concert by GRAMMY winner Lauryn Hill.

However, as shown at the Royals Hall Of Fame located within the ballpark near left field, the all-time most popular promotional Royals giveaway item is surprisingly the Royals-branded halter top. Reportedly, the last time that Kauffman Stadium hosted "Halter Top Day" was 2009. Many attempts have been made to bring this promotion back on multiple occasions, but the team has thus far declined.
