11 Players Who Stole A Living From Celtic

7. Glenn Loovens

Signed From: Cardiff City Fee: £2.5 million Tony Mowbray did a lot of things wrong during his time at Celtic - starting when he said yes to the job offer - but spending £2.5m on Cardiff's Glenn Loovens has to rank pretty highly on his list of misdemeanours. Now, £2.5m is not a massive amount of money if you're investing in a good talent who can have an immediate impact on the first team, and Loovens had proved himself a dependable part of Cardiff's play in the Championship. But when you're investing that in a player who suddenly seems to remember that he's a clumsy, in-elegant and injury-prone waste of time, it looks like a big amount. Over 4 years and more than 90 appearances, Loovens somehow outlasted more talented defenders like Stephen McManus and even Gary Caldwell, despite never really looking the part, and he ultimately left in 2012, without much of a legacy at all.
