8. Their Players Aren't Suited To Pochettino's Style
Maurico Pochettino has a very specific style of play. It is one of quick attacking football the kind that Spurs used to play when they had the likes of Luka Modric and Gareth Bale at their disposal. Modric would quickly get moves going by laying the ball off and Bale would quickly charge forward with intent. Pochettino had that at Southampton with the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin and Adam Lallana and he wants to replicate it at Spurs, but Spurs dont have the players to do so. Players like Etienne Capoue and Mousa Dembele will never lay the ball off as quickly or efficiently as Modric or Schneiderlin and players like Christian Eriksen and Nacer Chadli will never charge forward with the conviction of Bale or Lallana. Pochettino's new signings didnt address either of these issues either. The Argentinian boss is trying to force players to play out of their comfort zone, when he should be playing to their strengths.
