12 Most Expensive Transfers In Premier League History
7. Alexis Sanchez - Barcelona To Arsenal (£35 Million)
That's now two years on the trot that Arsenal have signed someone considered a genuinely world class player, and for BIG money. Arsene Wenger is putting the notion that he doesn't throw money around to bed, especially after the signing of Mesut Ozil last summer, too. But speedy Chilean Alexis Sanchez arrived this season after the Gunners beat away the likes of Liverpool and perhaps a hint of interest from Manchester United for his signature. Sanchez has shown his class over the last few years in a formidable Barcelona front line, and even grabbed a classy, chipped winner in last season's opening 'El Clasico' clash between his former club and Real Madrid. Time will tell if the money spent on Sanchez will be worth it, but this lad certainly has the bare essentials to take Arsenal to new heights... Perhaps third in the league?
