12. Bill McGarry Doesn't Like The Questions

An a now infamous interview exchange, notoriously temperamental manager Bill McGarry spoke with the most unfortunate reporter ever, shortly after a costly defeat for the Magpies, and reminded everyone why it's best not to ask silly questions. This one is very much in the same line as Gordon Strachan's approach to stupid questions that would later become such a big part of his repertoire. Versions of the interview slightly differ, but he's a basic - and very colourful - outline: Interviewer: Are you worried about your own position as manager now at Newcastle, Bill? McGarry: You ever been told to f*** off? Interviewer: (Laughs nervously) McGarry: Eh? Interviewer: (Laughs a bit more nervously) McGarry: What a f***ing diabolical question, you c***-*rse! Interviewer: Bill, I'm sorry... McGarry: F*** off Interviewer: I didn't mean... McGarry: F*** off! You can put that on the f***ing radio as well! What a disgraceful f***ing question!
