12 WTF Moments In Newcastle's Disastrous 14/15 Season
1. Appointing John Carver
When you look at John Carver's CV as a manager or a head coach or however you want to dress him up, he's not fit to work at the top level. He has struggled in every single job he's been handed when he hasn't had someone to look up to, and whether he's considered a great coach or not, he should never be considered a justifiable candidate for any top level job.
And despite the fact that he was a major part of the coaching team that saw Newcastle completely forget how to take corners, or free-kicks, or goal-kicks or play attacking football at all, Carver was still deemed the right man for the job.
Even having him as a caretaker for a couple of games was a gamble, considering the notorious track-record of assistant managers failing as managers, but Carver's appointment on an interim contract was on another level entirely.
Only Newcastle would hire and continue to back John Carver, and unfortunately there's more than a slight whiff that his full-time appointment might also be one of those typically Newcastle things to do.
