Catching it proved a lot more problematic than scoring against the visitors though. Some players tried in vain to coral it as it evaded everyone for almost two minutes. Finally a steward managed to gather up the cat and take it safely down the tunnel. The game ended in a 3-0 win for Barcelona but the cat might actually have brought good luck for Elche that night. In January's correponding fixture at Elche the home side were battered 0-6 by the visiting Catalans.
