15 Examples That Prove NUFC Isn't 'Your' Club
The statement they put out yesterday was a lie... As you were.
It was the line in the statement that made every single Newcastle United fan cringe and then question the motives of the club.
"All parties accept responsibility for the current situation but are determined, together, to ensure this Club - your Club - retains its Premier League status."Your Club? The nerve of the PR department at Newcastle United, eh? This, on the face of things, was an attempt by the club to try and go some way to fixing a club that is broken to its core. They are well aware of all the unrest in the terraces and are bracing themselves for a barren summer where season ticket renewals are set to hit an all time low. (Of course, the new Premier League TV money will more than make up for a few thousand empty seats at St James' Park next season.) Using emotive language such as 'your' is a desperate attempt to get those who took part in the #BoycottSpurs, and the like, back into the ground so they can cheer (or spend more money) on the team during the final three home games of the season. All this is too late and very much in vein. Too much water has passed under the Tyne Bridge to save Newcastle now. In the eyes of the fans it's no longer a club. It's a soulless business with one aim and one aim only. Profit. Here's 15 reasons that prove Newcastle Untied isn't 'your club' at all.
