Back when Newcastle were felled 2-1 by local rivals Sunderland, journalists Lee Ryder and Mark Douglas were banned from asking questions to manager Alan Pardew after the game. This, of course, was part of the overriding NCJ Media ban. But the way the club dealt with the situation was simply horrible. Head of Media Wendy Taylor simply told both Douglas and Ryder to be quiet, in essence, when fans were desperate for answers from Pardew after another humiliating defeat.
