Sadly forgotten due to being a beautifully colourful kit in a time of very little photography to properly capture it, the away kit of the early 70s was so popular that the design hardly changed for over 10 years. Initially being paired with a light blue set of shorts before changing to a green that matched the shirt's trim, the giant collar design was based on the surge in popularity of formal shirts with the same feature. Now immortalised by classic kit manufacturers, the top is enjoying something of a renaissance amongst the club's fanbase and away day faithful. While the collar will thankfully only ever be seen again on Steve Claridge's Football League Show attire, it's likely the colour scheme could return to the club in the near future.
