20 Greatest Kits In Newcastle United History

8. 2011/2012 - Home Kit

By their own admission, Puma's first Newcastle kit for their return to the Premier League was someone of a rushed effort. Their follow up, however, was something of a triumph. Initially released with images of Kevin Nolan looking less than svelte, the notion was that the solid black sides were designed to provide that slimming effect more recently seen on dresses in Zara. In the cold light of day though, the simple two-stripe design with contrasting sleeves looked like one of the best home kits Newcastle have ever had. A flash of white on the shorts and two hoops on the socks added to the designs simplicity, and watching Hatem Ben Arfa fly through defences wearing it was a thing of complete beauty.
