Against his old club, Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership Playoff Final recently, Nicky Law looked like he would struggle to get a game for the Lanarkshire club. This means either Rangers have turned him into a worse player than he was when he first strolled into Ibrox, or Law himself has been shown up for what he is, an average, journeyman player who is pretty fortunate to be earning a living wage from football. Let's go with the latter, because the Englishman has been utterly woeful over the past few years. Sure, he was scoring for fun against lower division teams, but that doesn't tell the whole story. Even in those games against part-time opposition, the man struggled to run the midfield, which must have had alarm bells ringing amongst the Rangers support. Nicky Law is very much another case of people having faith in those who don't really do anything to merit it, but what were Rangers expecting, really? He may have (occasionally) shone in Stuart McCall's Motherwell team, but that doesn't mean he's guaranteed to be a success in blue. Worse yet, Law even told the media when Rangers were in League One (the third tier of Scottish football) that he was creaking under pressure to win every game. That's simply not good enough.
