Never the most agile, to put it mildly, Kevin Kyle can count himself very fortunate to have ever passed a fitness test to become a professional footballer. A lengthy stint with Sunderland at the start of the new millennium threw up only 13 goals, and he wouldn't exactly set the world alight with Rangers either. By 2012, Rangers had been demoted to the fourth tier of the Scottish professional game, having to apply for re-admittance following the liquidation of the club's business holding. As a consequence, a lot of players decided not to transfer their contracts over to the new business, and that's where Kevin Kyle comes in. Ally McCoist was looking for players with experience who could help shore up his barren squad. Kyle would later reveal that he only intended to ask for £500 per week from Rangers, but was instead offered upwards of £4,000, without asking. Obviously, he wasn't going to turn that down, yet only managed 8 games in total as a Rangers player, meaning he took a hell of a lot of money for doing sod all.
