Rangers fans have had to put up with an awful lot of nonsense over the past 3 years, and it was exactly the wrong time for a player to anger them even further in 2012, shortly after the club had been placed in the old Third Division. Enter Francisco Sandaza, a mildly talented, yet incredibly lazy, forward who - during the course of one phone call - would effectively remove himself from contention for a spot at the club. A hoax telephone call from someone pretending to be an agent, offering Sandaza contact with clubs in England, had the player begging to get out of his contract with Rangers. In 2013, Rangers were plying their trade in the lowest league in Scotland, something the striker felt was beneath him. Admitting the false flag caller that he was only in it for the money, the public airing of the call spelled the end for Sandaza as a Ranger. After news broke with the story, he would never play for the team again, and currently plays for low-level Spanish teams.
