25 Players Who Stole A Living From Rangers

1. James Beattie

There was a time when James Beattie was highly-regarded in the English Premier League, and it seemed almost certain that he'd get a move from Southampton to a bigger club. Manchester United were amongst the teams speculated on, but Beattie would move to Everton in 2005. Dwindling down the system in a similar fashion to Francis Jeffers before him, the striker played for the likes of Sheffield United and Stoke City, before making a £2 million move to Rangers in the Summer of 2010. It seemed like a good fit - even though Beattie's career had derailed somewhat, Scotland seemed like the best place to get it back on track. Signing a 2-year contract, the player only starred in 7 games for the Ibrox club, joining Blackpool on loan around half way through his first season at Rangers. It was a confusing time for many fans, not to mention Walter Smith, who had a complete dud on his hands. Unable to even control a simple pass, Beattie was rubbish, unremarkable and just plain rotten.
