The greatest fight that never happened. There's simply no other way to describe the super fight between Anderson Silva and Georges St-Pierre that had been talked about for years, but never came to fruition. It would have been an absolute titanic clash of greatness, two of the very best fighters the sport of mixed martial arts has ever produced, going one-on-one to decide who was The Man.

For many people, Silva and GSP are the best of the best, #1 and #2 on the all-time pound-for-pound list. This would have been a true GOAT fight, with the winner claiming bragging right for the rest of time. Even better, it would have been a true clash of styles: Silva is the best striker the business has ever seen and GSP is the most dominant and physically imposing wrestler to ever grace the Octagon. To see that level of mastery play out against each other would have been awe inspiring.

This fight could still technically happen today, but Silva is well, well passed his prime and we've yet to see how GSP fares after a nearly five year hiatus. Unfortunately, a true battle between these two will always be a far off dream.
