5 Blockbuster Fights UFC Should Make (And 5 They Never Did)

While many purist MMA fans would prefer Conor McGregor's next fight be a defense of his UFC lightweight championship, that's not likely to happen. After the circus that was his fight with Floyd Mayweather, McGregor is the biggest star in combat sports and he'll do whatever the hell he wants, thank you very much. And as we've come to know with Mystic Mac, he wants the biggest money fights all the time.

At this point, any fight featuring the brash Irishman is going to be a blockbuster, but to maximize his, and the UFC's, earning potential, a rubber match against Nate Diaz is probably the best choice. Nate's already defeated Conor once, by submission, no less, and Conor has defeated him once, albeit by decision. A third fight between the two would be filled with intrigue and ludicrously entertaining press conferences.

However, if the Conor wants to try something new, this is exactly the kind of big money fight that would lure Nate's older brother Nick back into the Octagon. To be fair, Nick Diaz hasn't fought in nearly three years, but he's just as talented and beloved as his brother. Either way, Conor should look to Stockton for his next fight.
