5 Exciting Things About League Two Next Season

4. The Most Dreaded Relegation

Nothing scares the heart and soul of a football fan more than the dreaded R word, relegation. It is a horrible experience than no fan wants to suffer though having to see your team lose so badly they finish near the bottom of the league then start the next season dropped down into a different footballing class.

There is no drop more harsh or cruel than the disheartening drop from League Two down into the Conference. To go from a professional Football League supported division into the ranks of several semi-professional teams must be very hard for fans to accept.

It€™s a drop teams can struggle to recover from the likes of Grimsby and Luton long time Football League members dropped down to the Conference and have spent several years in that tough league trying to break back into League football.

There are teams famously like Swansea who if they avoid the drop out of league football have a chance to rise up and really make a mark on the top flight but it€™s a slippery slope with no one really wants their league status to be under threat like that.

This year it's teams like Torquay, Plymouth, Dagenham and Wimbledon who were all down fighting for their lives last year must already be looking over their shoulder like everyone in the division all hoping a bad run of results doesn€™t drop them dangerously close to those two relegation places and leave them fighting to survive in league football.
