5 Exciting Things About League Two Next Season

5. Portsmouth

To say Portsmouth€™s journey to League Two has been a whirlwind ride is a deeply dramatic understatement. 5 years ago Portsmouth were riding high with victory in the FA Cup, a ticket into Europe and comfortably established as a top flight club the future looked very bright.

The bubble of success didn€™t just burst it exploded in a massive financial meltdown that had Pompey on the brink of going out of business several times. The club tumbled though various stages of administration, debt and relegations until finally last year the Pompey Supporters Trust stepped in and the loyal fans saved the club.

The debt is now all but settled and so is the threat of any more point deductions is over and finally after what must feel like so much time in near bankruptcy Portsmouth fans can now finally start looking forward. It won€™t be easy with the team is now down in League Two somone will still be an issue but all Portsmouth fans must just be happy they know for sure they will still have a club to support.

The biggest relief of course is the fact we can now talk about Portsmouth football rather than all the off field dramas and I€™m sure new boss Guy Whittingham and his players will enjoy just concentrating on football and looking to climb out of the bottom division moving up once again.
