3. Kleberson
After winning the World Cup with Brazil in 2002, Kleberson was touted as one of the key men behind the Samba Boys claiming the trophy as he formed a defensive duo with Gilberto Silva to balance the attacking talents of Ronaldinho, Rivaldo and Ronaldo. Luis Felipe Scolari even gave him
the seal of approval prior to moving to Manchester United, where he instead failed to deliver after suffering an injury in his second appearance for the Red Devils, and subsequently only making 20 appearances over the course of his two seasons at Old Trafford. The Brazilian midfielder would then move on to Besiktas, playing 45 times before splitting acrimoniously with the club over alleged unpaid wages two years later. He has since played for Flamengo, Atletico Paranaense, Bahia and Philadelphia Union, but at the age of 34 he has largely failed to live up to the expectations placed on him upon his arrival in Europe.
