5 Goalkeepers In Line To Replace Victor Valdes At Barcelona

1. Nahuel Guzman

Talking of outside bets, none come more appropriately described than Newell's Old Boys No.1 Guzman, who could follow his former coach Tata Martino to Spain. An excellent shot stopper, the Argentine keeper also has experience of playing as a sweeper keeper in Martino's high pressure set up, and could seamlessly slip into Valdes' shoes, despite not being the favourite for the job. But on that note, how many people predicted Martino would even be in contention for the manager's jobs at the Camp Nou, let alone actually get it? With this in mind, Guzman becomes a very real contender to replace Valdes, as Martino begins to wield his managerial powers at the Camp Nou and make his first splash in the transfer window. Just one of several positions the 50-year-old is looking to strengthen in the next two transfer windows, replacing Valdes could turn out to be the simplest position to sort out with a low key bid for the 27-year-old Newell's keeper. Think anyone else deserves a mention in the race to replace Valdes? Tell us who!
