5 Goalkeepers In Line To Replace Victor Valdes At Barcelona

One of the most talked about issues in Spanish football this season has been the long running saga of who will replace goalkeeper Victor Valdes at the end of the season when the Spain international's contract comes to an end. The 31-year-old has spent his entire career with the Catalan giants, and revealed last season that his intention was to leave when his current deal expired. The news came as a surprise to many, not least of all his club, and despite rumours that he would perform a u-turn and instead sign a new contract, the Barca No.1 stuck to his guns and has been linked with several clubs since his announcement. The favourites this week are Monaco, who are believed to have all but secured a deal for the Catalan born player with money not an option for the Russian billionaire backed Monegasques. English Premier League sides Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City have all been linked with bids for the keeper, with some hoping to poach him in the January transfer window on the cheap. The keeper will however see out his deal at the Camp Nou, with Barca boss Gerardo Martino already scouring the world for his replacement. So to help him in his decision making, we have compiled a list of possibles for the No.1 slot at one of the worlds top clubs. No pressure.
