5 Heroes & Villains From Newcastle 1-2 Arsenal

2. Ayoze Perez

After being inexplicably left out of the starting line-up from the past few miserable displays, Ayoze Perez showed yesterday exactly why he should actually be the first name on Carver's team sheet (the Spanish U21 side must be out of this world also as he was snubbed from their latest squad this past week). His incredible knack for making minor miracles happen out of nothing (both on, and off the ball with his relentless closing down, chasing lost causes and always trying to run into space) is exhilarating and with a better team around him, you can't help but think he could become one of the biggest goals and assist makers in the Premier League. An incredible effort soon after Sissoko's goal was the highlight of his afternoon, almost curling a 30 yarder into the far left side of Ospina's post. Another late effort after beating him two men and playing himself into a dangerous position almost deflected past the Arsenal 'keeper. It's too scary to think what this lad could do in an Arsenal shirt and Newcastle fans would be wise to pray Wenger was more concerned about his own team's frailties at the back than looking for potential to strengthen up top.
