5 Players Most Likely To Leave Chelsea This Summer

1. Petr Cech

Every Chelsea fan knows the Petr Cech situation right now, so it doesn't really bear repeating. It's certainly a difficult call, however, as no-one actually wants to see Big Pete leave the club - especially in the wake of his hilarious piss-taking of a United fan on Twitter - even while recognising that by all objective logic, now is the right time to let Thibaut Courtois take over the No.1 slot. The ideal situation of Cech remaining as backup to the Belgian isn't only unlikely, but would be a disappointing way for Cech's Chelsea career to come to an end. Quite frankly, he deserves better than a season on the bench or doing Casillas duty in cup games, especially when still in his goalkeeping prime. Mark Schwarzer may be 41 years old, but proved himself a capable deputy when called into action following Cech's injury at the end of last season and is certainly more reliable than the likes of Ross Turnbull or Hilario, who have been our second option to frequently tragic results in the past. Painful though it is to say, selling Cech would probably be the least harmful option, especially considering this is probably the club's last chance to attract a transfer fee worthy of his talents. Having already waved goodbye to Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole, losing Pete would only make this summer's exodus of legends even more painful to look back on, but sometimes you just have to accept that the time is right. Those the five most viable options to leave Chelsea this summer. Let us know if your thoughts in the comments below!
