5 Reasons Tottenham Could Win The Premier League Title This Season
1. The Bale Factor
Amazingly I have gone this whole article without mentioning Bales name once. True I hinted at it a few times but considering the young Welshmans name has been plastered all over the sports back pages all summer you would still be amazed his name hasnt already featured in this article.
Gareth Bale is of course Tottenhams best player; a world class talent who won Spurs so many games last year and was scoring goals just for fun. With just a few weeks left of the transfer window being open Bale seems on the brink of making his dream move over to Real Madrid for a world record fee .
The big question isnt if Bale is leaving or not because its hard to see anyone turning down the advances of Real Madrid. The question is how Spurs will react to losing their star player as you would think Spurs would be a weaker team without the talents of Bale and of course the loss of Bale would be huge for Spurs but not as disastrous as people think.
Sure Bale has won them games and his goals last year were vital but the record transfer fee he is more than likely to get would be a huge help to Spurs. Tottenham have already broken their transfer record twice this window meaning they either have a lot of money to spend or they are already out spending what they are expected to get for Bale.
Bale could also stay at the time of writing his transfer still hadnt gone through and it could all be a big bluff on the part of Spurs and Daniel Levy. The Spurs chairman went through a similar summer transfer saga with Luka Modric a few seasons ago and was able to keep the talented midfielder for an extra season before he was sold. Of course Bale himself might want to stay closer to his family and at a club where he wont play second fiddle to Ronaldo but no one really knows the whole story.
With or without him Spurs can still mount a title challenge this year, sure it would look stronger with Bale but they have already spent their transfer money well and if they got a record fee to use in the January window Spurs might well be unstoppable going from an outside chance to being right up there come the end of the season.
Do you agree? Do Tottenham have a good chance of winning the title or is there entire team nothing without Bale all comments welcome below.
