1. Vitor Belfort
What better place to start than with the man Jones faces on 22nd September at UFC 152. Vitor Belforts UFC career dates back to 1997 and includes wins over Wanderlei Silva, Matt Lindland and Rich Franklin. What has always made the Phenom such an exciting talent is the sense that he is fighting right on the edge, capable of the spectacular both in victory and defeat. That, and the potentially hostile atmosphere facing the Champion in Ontario, make this a fight worth caring about. Vitors style dictates that the chances of him landing something and following up in relentless fashion for the early win are greater than probably any other fighter in the division. Conversely that same style vastly increases the chances of him over committing and getting blasted out in the first round. Unfortunately for Belfort the latter is clearly the most likely outcome but the emotional fighter should be buoyed by a whole World of MMA Fans rooting for him. If Dan Henderson had that big right hand, Vitor has a whole flurry of them. Relevant Wins: Wanderlei Silva, Rich Franklin Telling Defeats: Alistair Overeem, Anderson Silva Question Marks: Hasnt fought at 205 since 2007 Route to Victory: Catches Jones early and commits to a finish.
