3. Abandon the Europa League
With relegation looming Newcastle simply have to let go of the European dream they fought so hard to realise last season. Pardew simply can't risk tiring or injuring first teamers in Europa League games whilst survival is still in doubt. Instead Newcastle must persist with their policy in the group stage of fielding sides of young or bit-part players, and not be tempted to go all out for glory. Newcastle are already out of both domestic cups and going out of Europe would allow the team to concentrate wholly on the Premier League. There is unlikely to be a backlash from the fans as they were never favourites for the competition anyway and
many in England consider it to be a waste of time.
