6 Main Card Predictions For UFC Fight Night: Hunt vs. Nelson

4. Rin Nakai vs. Miesha Tate

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyGHBBl9xvc Weight Class: Bantamweight Rin Nakai is something of a question mark in women's MMA. She's a former Pancrase bantamweight champion, and boasts a 16-0-1 record as a pro. She's called the Queen of Pancrase, and has some notable victories in her career - but some of those have come under strange Japanese MMA rule sets, such as having fighters who miss weight limited in attacks they can use. British fighter Danielle West was not allowed to throw knees or attempt chokes after missing weight for her bout with Nakai. Of course, that's not Nakai's fault. And she does have legit wins as well. Beyond that, she's something of a quirky fighter, going between the cage and pin-up photo shoots. Which is fine, but will she be 100% focused on the UFC with so many options open to her? Nakai has called opponent Miesha Tate "beautiful and sexy" and while she's not wrong, there might be a question of motivation here. On the other hand, she's making her UFC debut in her home country against the number two ranked fighter in the division, Miesha "Cupcake" Tate (14-5), the only fighter who has taken current champion Ronda Rousey past the first round (she has lost to Rousey twice, as Rousey took her bantamweight title back in Strikeforce). Nakai is quirky and likeable but Tate is a likeable fighter herself, and in the end, as much as we're rooting for Nakai in a career sense, Tate is the better fighter, and it would be a huge upset if she lost here. Tate by TKO in the first.
