This may seem like a throwaway comment, but Saivet's reputation on popular management simulator Football Manager was, initially, as one of the best players in the entire game. While counts for less than nothing in real-life, it does illustrate just how highly the player was regarded during his formative years. "The next Thierry Henry" even being a phrase that was thrown around at the time. While he's certainly not lived up to that billing, football is littered with latent stories of players finally making good on their promised potential. Henry himself struggling out of position at Juventus before a move to the Premier League finally saw him flourish into one of the greatest to ever grace our domestic game. If Saivet is half that good he'll be regarded as one of the club's greatest ever transfers, but at only 25 there's still plenty of room and time for him to develop into a quality football player. The raw ingredients have been there for Saviet for a number of years, and the task is now Steve McClaren's to try and get the best out of him.
