2. Jonathan Soriano (2012)

It isn€™t at all surprising that nobody has heard of Jonathan Soriano if this penalty attempt is anything to go by. This one happened quite recently, in 2012, but is definitely one of the worst of all time.

Playing for Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg last season, Spaniard Soriano had the responsibility of putting his side back in a match they were losing from 12 yards. He took a unconvincing run up, before sending the ball sailing miles over the bar. And 'miles' isn't too much of an exaggeration! Quite how Soriano managed to miss the target by such a distance is staggering, he€™d probably struggle to hit a worse penalty if he tried.
