1. Robert Pires & Thierry Henry (2005)

If you€™re an Arsenal or Man City fan, you€™ll probably be familiar with this shambolic penalty attempt by 2 of the best players in the Premier League at the time, Robert Pires and Thierry Henry. During a Premier League match in 2005, Arsenal were awarded their second penalty kick against visitors Man City, having the chance to further extend their lead against the blues.

How hard can it be to convert from 12 yards? Henry and Pires obviously thought it was too easy, so opted to try something completely different. But it didn€™t quite go to plan when Pires unintentionally touched the ball while attempting to feign a shot. A confused Henry then ran past the ball, allowing City€™s defence to retrieve it. What a mess!
