3. Argentina
This is no doubt a selection that may cause debate, but there are a whole host of factors that mean Argentina's chances at this World Cup are being over-hyped to the maximum. First of all, they have the coveted advantage of being from South America, much like Uruguay. That may well be a sizable plus point to have in their favour, but there is no guaranteeing that until the tournament actually begins. The fact they have Lionel Messi in their side automatically leads many people to assume they will be flooded with goals, and will blitz their way through the field to advance to the final. However, Messi will have to improve on his appalling record at the tournament; scoring just one goal in two World Cup tournaments. In many ways similar to Portugal, Argentina's reliance on one man is a risky game to play, and could well lead to them failing at the tournament. Whilst they will surely get through a group containing the likes of Iran and Nigeria, the latter rounds could well be a step too far for the Argentinians.
