Much is expected of Uruguay at this year's tournament, despite them being in an incredibly tricky group. With England and Italy - as well as Costa Rica - vying to get out of Group D, it looks a tricky ask for any particular nation to regard qualification as an easy task. With the firepower of Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani spearheading their charge in Brazil, Uruguay are being tipped by many to potentially repeat their heroics of 1930 and 1950, and actually win the World Cup. With the tournament on South American soil, the nations from that continent are being looked upon favourably by pundits and fans, as home advantage takes greater importance than ever before. However, England fans who are crying themselves to sleep at night over the threat of facing Suarez and company shouldn't be too worried. Whilst their attacking flair is undoubtedly impressive, they face problems similar, or even worse than England - a brittle defence. Their captain is Diego Lugano, who was recently released by West Bromwich Albion after making just nine appearances for the club. And joining him in defence is Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates, who has struggled to feature under Brendan Rodgers this season. With defence like that, Daniel Sturridge and Wayne Rooney should be chomping at the bit to take on the Uruguayans, rather than fear them.
