8 Rangers Players Who Should Be Embarrassed To Wear The Shirt

Kenny Shiels, father of Dean, remarked in early-2015 that Rangers had ruined his son's promising career. Stating that the club were stifling his ability to play football, Kenny reasoned that Dean would be best served moving away from Ibrox. Obviously, these words angered the Gers support, who had yet to really see evidence that Dean Shiels was as good a player as daddy dearest was making him out to be.

An admittedly talented player with the ball at his feet during spells at Hibernian and Kilmarnock, Shiels hasn't really shown that often enough to the Rangers fans. Perhaps this is down to the intense pressure of playing for a club the size of the Ibrox outfit, because supporters pretty much demand a win every time, but the midfielder has nowhere to hide when discussing why he didn't play a bigger part in proceedings last season.

Completely anonymous more often than not, Shiels requires one almighty season to prove what his father said isn't utter nonsense. Too many of the squad in season 2014-2015 were blamed for doing little other than simply picking up a wage, and 'Deano' fit into that category.
