Arsenal: 10 Players Wenger Must Sign In January

10. Hatem Ben ArfaClub: Newcastle United Position: Winger Value: £15-20m A maverick winger with the ability to take world class defenders on as if they weren't there, Frenchman Ben Arfa may have a firey temperament, and can occasionally drift out of games (more thanks to the form of the rest of his team, and their willingness to pass, rather than his own), but he is one of the great prodigious talents in the Premier League at the minute. He can dribble with ease, confidently running at the opposition (something that is hugely valuable in the modern game), has great vision for a pass, can cross and chips in with a good few goals of his own, and he does so with the swagger you associate with only the best. For whatever they'd be asked to pay Arsenal would be picking up a talent who could more than replace Theo Walcott, offering a creative outlet that can turn games on their head in an instant. Value would all depend on how much Mike Ashley wants to keep ahold of his star creative talent: while he has been a revelation at times for Newcastle, his long injury and the comparatively low fee paid to bring him in from Marseille might turn Ashley's head towards the idea of a lot of profit. It wouldn't go down well with Newcastle fans, but then, few of the decisions made under Ashley's tenure have appeared good or progressive to begin with.
