Arsenal: 10 Players Wenger Must Sign In January

6. David Villa

Club: Barcelona Position: Striker Value: £10-12m Allegedly offered to the Gunners as part of a cash plus player deal for Robin Van Persie during the summer, it seems that - if those stories were true - David Villa's time at Barcelona may be drawing to an end. Added to that the rumoured interest from Liverpool, among other clubs, and the time might be right for Arsene Wenger to move to bring in the Spanish striker. Having scored a massive 108 goals in 166 league games for Valenia, and 26 in 54 for Barcelona, Villa clearly has the eye for a goal, which is exactly what Arsenal need - regardless of new additions to the squad, the side simply do not always have the clinical end-product to reward their progressive play, leading to continued accusations of toothlessness (which were amazingly still abundant during RVP's high-scoring run last year). Provided Villa is completely over his injury, which robbed him of 8 months of football last term - and all signs are good given his 3 goals so far this season - Arsenal would do well to try and bring him in to offer a more recognisable centre-forward to their team
