Arsenal: 10 Things Arsene Wenger Must Achieve Before 2017

1. Win The Premier League Again

Arsene Wenger built one of the best sides in football history as the Invincibles went a whole league season without losing, and with the playing field levelled by finances, that will never happen again. But that doesn't mean Arsenal should give up on their title aspirations.

Last season was the best chance of recapturing the league for Arsenal: with David Moyes ruining Manchester United, Pellegrini settling into English football and Mourinho inheriting a weak Chelsea side, Arsenal capitalized on this merry-go-round and managed to sit comfortably at the top of the league for 128 days. Everything was going well until the familiar curse of injuries took Ramsey, Ozil and Walcott out of action and the squad could not cope.

For Arsenal to win the league this season Wenger needs to install the same grit and fearless approach the Invincibles had, even if they don't remain unbeaten. Wenger plays a 4-2-3-1 formation and with Arteta and Wilshire holding makes for pretty one touch passes and goals of the season, but when top sides play Arsenal they can walk through their defence. Wenger needs to buy a few defenders and a defensive midfielder; a Nemanja Mati‡ type that can hold and dictate the tempo of the game or a Joey Barton who can rustle up a few feathers.
