Arsenal: 5 Reasons Why They Will Still Finish In Top 4

4. The Inevitable Collapse of Tottenham

Whilst Tottenham currently find themselves four points ahead of Arsenal and in prime position for that last remaining Champions League place, their record of maintaining such an advantage in recent years isn't exactly gleaming. Comically last season when Tottenham did succeed in breaking into the top 4 (with Arsenal safely in third), Chelsea who were further down the table, won the Champions League itself and so a 4th spot place once again evaded the North London Club. It appears as though Tottenham don't possess the backbone and clinical edge which is required to consistently penetrate the Champions League places. Conversely, Arsenal have shown these traits in abundance in recent years, which in my opinion is a major factor as to why Arsenal should be considered favourites for that 4th spot. Furthermore, the crucial season defining fixture of Spurs vs Arsenal is imminent, and Arsenal who have more than a decent record in this clash recently, can realistically cut that gap substantially should they get a win. As we all know, in this meeting between the two clubs earlier on in the season, Arsenal romped to a 5-2 victory over their North London rivals. So with still more than 10 games to play this season, this fourth spot is by no means set in stone.
