Arsenal: 5 Youngsters That Will Shine This Season

4. Kieran Gibbs

The 23-year-old left-back has established himself as a regular starter in Arsene Wenger's XI in recent seasons. A product of the club's youth academy, Kieran Gibbs has been at the Emirates since the age of 14 and broke into the senior side in 2007, where he has made 61 appearances for the Gunners. Following the departure of Gaƫl Clichy in 2011, Gibbs was given his big break at the club, succeeding from the France international as Wenger's first choice left-back. A series of sterling performances at the back led to the England international being awarded a long-term contract at the Emirates, where he is expected to form the spine of a very young and vibrant Arsenal squad for years to come. Gibb's campaign last season was disrupted by a thigh injury that ruled him out for over a month and the January signing of Nacho Monreal limited the youngster to 27 Premier League appearances. Monreal is expected to give Gibbs competition for a starting berth again next season but the youngster should thrive from this and the fact he is no longer a guaranteed starter should only make him hungrier.
