Arsenal Transfers: 10 Players Arsene Wenger Should Sign in January

3. Yann M'Vila

With the loss of Alex Song, Arsenal now have a gap in the holding area of midfield that has yet to be filled - Mikel Arteta is unfamiliar with the position, Aaron Ramsey can't tackle, Francis Coquelin is not quite ready, and Abou Diaby spends more time in physiotherapy than on the pitch. However, the answer to that problem area could easily be solved by Yann M'Vila, a 22 year old Frenchmen who plays for Rennes. He is strong in the challenge, and would run himself into the ground to grab victory. A prominent part in the rehabilitation of the French national team, he will eventually be playing for one of the best teams in Europe; so why not Arsenal? It's not as if he would not fit into our style of play, as he has consistently been compared to Patrick Vieira, Claude Makelele and Yaya Toure, three hugely successful Premier League midfielders. There is no reason M'Vila can't fill the hole that has been there since Vieira left in 2005.
