Arsenal Transfers: 6 Strikers Wenger Must Consider Before Deadline

1. Javier Hernandez (Manchester United)

Despite seeing some first team pitch time this season, Mexican Javier Hernandez is the comparatively forgotten man at Manchester United. He was clearly highly rated when he signed for Sir Alex Ferguson, but the continued form of Wayne Rooney and the signing of Robin Van Persie have relegated him to the substitute's bench, where he seems to be behind Danny Wellbeck in the pecking order. United's signing of Juan Mata changes the situation again. It's unlikely that Wayne Rooney will be played quite as deep as he has been in previous years, with Mata tasked with pushing play higher up the pitch and feeding through to both Rooney and Van Persie, and that will further limit Hernandez's chances of getting on the pitch Rooney will be considered increasingly as a traditional striker, as he once when he signed. Hernandez's speed and vision should make him a strong candidate for Wenger, who has invariably been keen to add pace to his front-line, and his different style of play to Giroud would make the possibility of their linking up a good one. Who do you think Arsene Wenger should consider as a new striker signing before the transfer window shuts later tonight? Share your picks below in the comments thread.
