2. Clint Dempsey
Clint Dempsey sparked controversy in his refusal to play for the cottagers in their opening day clash with Norwich City. After a summer of speculation over the Americans future one thing now seems certain, it wont be with Fulham. For a while it has appeared as if Liverpool would prove his next destination, although with just over a week until deadline day and no deal done, there in now an opportunity for Arsenal to step in and complete a transfer. Dempsey's impeccable finishing ability delivered 17 Premier League goals last year and this wealth of Premier League experience would be key if he were to transfer to the Gunners, allowing him to settle into the club faster than the foreign league stars already featured. Of the clubs interested in his services, including Sunderland and Liverpool, Arsenal definitely appear to be the strongest and with the added lure of European football, an offer from Arsene Wenger's side would surely be too hard to turn down.
