Arsenal Transfers: 7 Strikers Wenger Must Buy To Replace Van Persie

1. Fernando Llorente

And now to my best buy. Some of the greatest Premier League forwards of recent times have previously made their name in La Liga, including Fernando Torres and Sergio Aguero, and Arsenal fans will be hoping that perhaps Fernando Llorente can possibly be the next man to successfully move from Spain to England. Last season, Llorente managed 29 goals in his 8th, and best, campaign at Athletic Bilbao. The 27 year old is seemingly heading towards his prime. He has just added a European Chamionship winners medal to his trophy cabinet to go alongside his World Cup winners medal from 2010, yet he is still playing his club football at the club he has been at since 2004, without a domestic honour to his name. Llorente has never played in the Champions League, something he can achieve by transferring to the north London club. With Fernando Torres appearing to return to form after his Euro 2012 golden boot winning summer exploits, Llorente may need to play on Europe's top stage in order to compete for a place in the Spanish national squad. So the player himself may be willing to leave, but will his club want to sell their key man. Bilbao reached the Europa League final last time around and the club seem to be showing real ambition, ambition that will not be achieved by selling their strongest players. However I will end with this, Llorente's agent said recently a move to England is "very, very possible".
