1. To Save Wenger's Job
The most obvious reason why Arsenal need to beat Bayern Munich tonight is to keep Arsene Wenger in a job. It would be very difficult to argue the case that he has a future at the Emirates should he take the club into an eighth barren year without a trophy. Wenger has been under immense pressure to win something at Arsenal for years and he has been given every opportunity to prove his detractors wrong and that he is the right man for the job. There are only so many straws the camel can take before its back breaks and the time for a change in direction at the Emirates appears to be rapidly approaching. A defeat to Bayern tonight would only serve to provide Wenger's critics with even more ammunition that he needs to go before he drives the club further into the ground. A win would keep them at bay - for now. Do you think Arsenal will beat Bayern Munich over two legs? Should Wenger be sacked if they are eliminated? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
