2. To Salvage Arsenal's Season
There may be three months left of the season, and 14 games left to play for Arsenal as it stands, but their season could be all over come Wednesday 13th March. Out of the Capital One Cup, out of the FA Cup, no hope of winning the Premier League, elimination from the Champions League would solemnly hammer home the final nail in Arsenal's coffin this season. The Gunners would have nothing left to play for but pride, and it would mean the club would enter a dreaded eighth year without a trophy. Will fans still be holding aloft those "In Arsene We Trust" placards then? The only way to avoid that rather bleak scenario and keep those signs up at the Emirates is by beating Bayern Munich tonight before masterminding a way to win the Champions League in May. It might seem unlikely, but it is the only alternative scenario to Arsenal's season falling apart.
