Franco Di Santo has scored three times for Wigan Athletic so far this season and his contract with the Latics is up at the end of the current season. That has led to the Argentine being linked with a move to Liverpool but since Brendan Rodgers appears to be in the final stages of signing Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea, he may not need another forward given that he already has Luis Suarez. That could allow Paul Lambert to make an offer for the 23 year old and gatecrash Liverpool's move. Villa could use another striker given the a aforementioned injuries to Darren Bent and Gabby Abonlahor, and Di Santo would fit in perfectly with the rest of the young players Lambert has in his ranks.
