Celtic: 4 Reasons Why Stokes And Griffiths Can Form A Great Partnership

2. Quick, Creative Thinkers

Some of you may think I could have included this in the last page as it is an attribute that they share, but it deserves it's own focus as it's not necessarily about them as goal-scorers. It's about their build up play. Stokes and Griffiths are players that love to innovate on the pitch, using their creativity to catch a defence off-guard, and what makes it successful most of the time is their decision speed in doing so. I and many Celtic fans saw it in the St Johnstone game at the weekend. The first goal by Stokes was set up by a clever back heal flick by Griffiths, followed by a forward run that pealed the Saints defence away to give Stokes a sight at goal to shoot and score from distance. He created that, and Stokes created the goals, giving him a hat-trick which I felt was no coincidence - Griffith's influence was quite clear to see. Of course we've only seen a glimpse of this notion, but I'm confident we'll see both strikers showing some creative spark which they have been demonstrating in previous seasons, and combine to become an unpredictable and effective strike force that frustrate defenders to no end.

As a recent university graduate and a huge supporter of Celtic FC, what better way to use my inevitable free time to write about my favourite football team? I'll cover most things that the supporters are talking about at the moment, which includes things that directly and indirectly involve the club. At times I may also stray into matters concerning English clubs.
