Celtic: 4 Reasons Why Stokes And Griffiths Can Form A Great Partnership

1. They Both Have Something To Prove

This is what can bring them together in their quest for goals. They both have something to prove, but for different reasons. Griffiths needs to prove that despite him being a cheap alternative to other thigh profile European targets, he is good enough for Celtic. However, Stokes is in his 4th season at Parkhead, and in recent games has looked lost. Since Hooper left, he has not been able to successfully or consistently gel with another player. Lennon has tried getting him to link up with Samaras, but due to the big Greek's frustrating reluctance to pass, Stokes has had to try and apply a bit more selfishness to be involved in a goal, which of course has decreased his level of performance and ironically lowered his goal ratio. Now that Griffiths is here, Stokes has the opportunity to establish the kind of partnership he had with Hooper that made them a force to be feared. Additionally, Griffiths probably needs a partner to aid his development at Celtic. The quicker this happens, the more confidence both players will build, and hopefully we won't have to rely on so many goals from midfield and defence in the future. Celtic fans, is there anything else you think these two have in common? Do you think they'll form a successful partnership up front? Or do you think their similar styles will cancel each other out rather than aid their play? Let us know what you think below.

As a recent university graduate and a huge supporter of Celtic FC, what better way to use my inevitable free time to write about my favourite football team? I'll cover most things that the supporters are talking about at the moment, which includes things that directly and indirectly involve the club. At times I may also stray into matters concerning English clubs.
