Here's a controversial one, especially with Mourinho recently refuting Paris St-Germain's troublemaking claims that the Brazilian attacking midfielder is firmly on their radar. The Blues manager also made a big statement earlier in the season by choosing Oscar over fan favourite Juan Mata, who departed in a surprise move to Manchester United in January. Mourinho's ego may not be ready to admit a possible mistake, but the fact remains that despite a prolific start to the season, Oscar's form has been wobbly at best in recent months. He may have notched two goals in the 6-0 trouncing of Arsenal, but while his willingness to do the defensive graft has always been appreciated by his manager, the creative side of his game has been virtually absent all season and goals have only come in fits and starts. His form last season tended to be hit-and-miss as well, but he enjoyed the benefit of the doubt given that it was his first season in the Premier League, he was still young and played enough good games to promise great things if he ever found a degree of consistency. That consistency still eludes him, and while it would be ludicrous to pretend a 22 yr old holding down starting places at a top European club and international team is anywhere near 'failing', his potential remains abstract at a time when Chelsea need greatness in the here and now. It's unlike Mourinho will consider selling him this summer, but if he can't find regular form over the 2014/15 season then it's not inconceivable that patience could start to wear a little thin. Fatigue is undeniably playing a part in his stunted development and it may be helpful for Mourinho to bring in another player to both challenge and rotate him in that No.10 position. Oscar is certainly safe for the time being, but improvements will need to be made if he's to avoid difficult questions in the future. Those are my ten choices for the players at risk from Mourinho's axe, let us know who you think could be heading through the exit door at Stamford Bridge. Is Ramires' lack of finesse going to cost him dear? Will Marco van Ginkel be given the chance to be make his mark? Will Mark Schwarzer finally give up the ghost? Leave your comments below!
